On November 6th, Barichara came alive with an incredible parade of floats to celebrate the Tropical Dry Forest. Around 600 children, teenagers, and families marched together, filling the streets with music, color, and joy.
With creative costumes inspired by the fauna, flora, guardian spirits and humans who protect this fragile and unique ecosystem, we all came together to honor our precious dry forest, severely degraded by bad agricultural practices, deforestation and real estate pressure.
This event, organized by the Ojo de Agua Cultural Foundation, the Caney Colibrí, the Aquileo Parra Technical Institute, and supported by Territoria, the Barichara Regenerativa Foundation and other collaborators, was a true cultural celebration where art, nature and the community came together to celebrate and reaffirm the commitment to the protection of our forest.
Thanks to everyone who made this beautiful tribute possible and who made this call to continue caring for the territory.
