In early September, the Colombian Society of Architects – Santander Chapter (SCA) expressed its appreciation for the work of the Barichara Regenerativa Foundation, together with MESETA (Community Water Committee), in the process of developing the Territorial Planning Scheme (EOT) for Barichara. This support is given within the framework of the existing Cooperation Agreement between both institutions, which seeks to integrate community knowledge with the technical and professional expertise of the architectural profession.

As part of this alliance, the SCA will lead the organization of the Institutional Academic Forum, to be held on the afternoon of September 21st, within the framework of the EOT Forum. This forum is designed to foster reflection and propose pathways for updating the EOT. The meeting will bring together experts, academics, and community stakeholders around a common purpose: to position Barichara as a living laboratory for territorial regeneration, capable of inspiring similar processes in Santander and throughout the country.
For the Barichara Regenerative Foundation, this recognition reaffirms the importance of the collective work that has been developing within the community, with an emphasis on environmental regeneration, living culture, a regenerative economy, and transformative education. The updating of the Land Use Plan (EOT) is understood not only as a technical instrument, but also as a social process that reflects the dreams and aspirations of its inhabitants.
We reiterate our commitment to continue coordinating efforts with the SCA and all strategic partners, convinced that this joint path will allow Barichara to consolidate itself as a national benchmark for sustainability, heritage and community cohesion.
