Between the end of August and the beginning of September 2025, representatives from various territorial foundations in Colombia met in a Virtual workshop on Artificial Intelligence Tools applied to information management for work teams, offered by Diego Alejandro Rodríguez, of Deltagram thanks to the support of TerritoriA.

For those of us involved in community-based initiatives, where strength lies in community and environmental stewardship, talking about artificial intelligence might seem distant. However, this workshop demonstrated that it is a set of tools that, when used responsibly and ethically, can help us organize ourselves better, manage the information we produce daily, and enhance our collective actions.
The importance of approaching AI from a territorial perspective
The Barichara Regenerative Foundation, along with other territorial foundations throughout the country, operates within a universe of data, stories, reports, surveys, testimonies, and lessons learned that need to be organized to make sense.
In that context, artificial intelligence appears not as an end in itself, but as an ally to better organize, understand and communicate what we do.
We know that AI does not replace human experience or knowledge of the territory, but it can become a valuable support for some tasks of our work teams.
Four sessions to broaden horizons

The workshop was conducted over four virtual sessions that took us from the fundamentals of artificial intelligence to concrete applications in information management. We learned to generate and analyze texts more efficiently; to process data to find patterns that help us make decisions; to transcribe audio recordings of meetings or interviews without wasting time; to configure digital assistants to support specific tasks; and, above all, to reflect on the importance of ethics and co-intelligence in the use of these tools.
Furthermore, each foundation has had the opportunity to access personalized mentoring to apply what they have learned according to their specific needs. This support reinforces the idea that learning is more effective when it is adapted to the reality of each process.
A collective experience
What we valued most was the way the workshop became a meeting place for organizations that, although we work in different territories, share similar concerns: how to better manage information, how to tell our stories clearly, how to sustain collaborative networks without drowning in data overload.
Artificial intelligence emerged as a bridge, not a threat. It showed us that we can rely on these tools to gain time, clarity, and order, and that this time can be returned to what truly matters: listening to, caring for, and regenerating our territories.
Beyond technique: the importance of continuing to learn
Our experience with Deltagram and TerritoriA reminded us that learning is a continuous process. Technology advances rapidly, but what truly sustains us is the ability to learn collaboratively, to share our discoveries, and to put that knowledge to the service of the region.
At Barichara Regenerativa, we believe that regeneration isn't just about nature, but also about how we work, organize ourselves, and build the future. Consciously and collectively incorporating tools like artificial intelligence is part of that regeneration.

The workshop ended, but the invitation remains open: to continue exploring, continuing to learn, and continuing to weave together. Because the future we dream of for our territories also depends on how well we use the tools of the present.
