It is a non-profit, non-governmental organization that has been working continuously for 14 years in five areas: 1) Creative media literacy. 2) Creation in the performing arts. 3) Education and research focused on methodologies for communication, the arts, social sciences, culture, and peace, developing innovative methodologies for rural Colombia. 4) Creation and construction of the Caney Colibrí community-based creative rural space, the only subsidized rural performance venue in Santander. 5) Management of the La Aguada farm as a prototype and educational setting focused on local water and soil restoration in the Tropical Dry Forest.
Among its activities are: • Creation of original plays and stage productions that reflect the community's identity and enrich the local cultural landscape. • Workshops, labs, and schools encompassing diverse artistic disciplines and environmental restoration techniques. • Through the Ojo de Agua Cultural Foundation, the Audiovisual School for Children develops an educational project where children and young people can explore and cultivate their creative talents. • Restoration of a stream's micro-watershed and regeneration efforts in the Tropical Dry Forest, vital to our environment. • Promotion of intergenerational and community dialogue, using the arts and discussion groups to strengthen the social fabric. • Organization of the Caney Colibrí Festival, an event that celebrates the arts and brings together children and rural communities around culture and creativity. • Ongoing programming of performing arts, music, and arts at Caney Colibrí.
