Weaving Seed Funds (Fondos Semilla) since 2021

On November 29, 2021, three years ago, the first spark was lit that gave birth to what we now call Fundación Barichara Regenerativa.

That night, at the Casa de la Cultura in Barichara, 125 of us gathered at the event Tejiendo Fondos Semilla (Weaving Seed Funds). In this exercise of community philanthropy we sought to connect, inspire and support 15 processes that were being implemented in the territory, as well as the children's initiative to lead the cleaning of the Quebrada Barichara, and three other projects that needed support to consolidate.

It was there where our slogan “In Barichara we all add up” took force, because this first meeting showed us the power of connection. Some people participated by buying tickets, others with donations, many with their time and work, and all with their presence. This event led several people to join the intention of creating a territorial Foundation in Barichara. The seed was sown, and on February 22, 2022, we held our second philanthropy event, this time virtual.

Since then, we have walked with firm, albeit silent, steps. We only officially registered our foundation in March 2024, but we have always worked with our hearts set on a single purpose: the regeneration of the territory.

Today we add three years of shared stories, efforts and dreams. Because we know that every action counts, and that together we can continue weaving a better future for Barichara.
