On November 6, Barichara came alive with an incredible Parade of Comparsas to celebrate the Tropical Dry Forest. Around 600 girls, boys, youth and families marched together, filling the streets with music, colors and joy.
With creative costumes inspired by the fauna, flora, guardian spirits and humans that protect this fragile and unique ecosystem, we all came together to honor our valuable dry forest, severely degraded by bad agricultural practices, deforestation and real estate pressure.
This event, organized by the Ojo de Agua Cultural Foundation, the Caney Colibri, the Aquileo Parra Technical Institute, and supported by Territoria, the Barichara Regenerative Foundation and other collaborators, was a true cultural celebration where art, nature and the community met to celebrate and reaffirm the commitment to protect our forest.
Thanks to all the people who made this beautiful tribute possible and who made this call to continue caring for the territory.
