Celebrating the magic of Bioparque in its first 15 years

The Bioparque Móncora celebrated its first 15 years of life, and what better way to do it than with a party of art and knowledge! This November 5, in an event full of color, creativity and emotion, nearly 300 children and young people from the Aquileo Parra Technical Institute, along with their teachers and directors, paid a unique tribute to this special space that since 2009 has worked tirelessly for the conservation of the Tropical Dry Forest and to sow environmental awareness in Barichara.

The celebration was a real feast: the fruit of painting, song, theater, storytelling, biogames, photography, video, comics and other artistic and knowledge contests. All inspired by the Biopark, that refuge of biodiversity that has grown and prospered thanks to the love and dedication of so many people. It was an event where the talent of the participants shone, but it was also a moment to pay tribute to those who have made this story possible.

One of the most emotional moments was the tribute to the guardians of the Biopark, Camila Encinales and Vicky Camacho, who during these fifteen years have given their heart and soul to restore and care for the 5 hectares of this natural sanctuary. Thanks to their tireless work, today the Biopark is home to more than 7,000 native trees and a rich avifauna, making it a true oasis of life and learning. A space where visitors not only learn about nature, but also connect with it in a profound and transformative way.

The Barichara Regenerative Foundation, aware of the immense value of this place, has been supporting the maintenance of the Biopark since 2023, and this celebration, joining its mission of regeneration and care for the environment. This event was not only a celebration of the achievements, but also a reaffirmation of the commitment to continue working together for a greener future for Barichara and its inhabitants.

In the end, what became clear is that the Moncora Biopark is much more than a natural space: it is a place for meeting, learning and hope, and we are ready to celebrate many more years of its existence!
